Natural remedies to improve the appearance of the elbows

codos-resecos

We take care of our face, our hair, our hands … but we always forget a very important part of our body: the elbows. They deserve attention too, and lots of it! Since they are an area that can easily dehydrate and change its texture and pigmentation.

Darkening of the elbows is due to genetics, wear, or friction melanosis. This occurs when you rub that area with clothing, objects, or scouring pads, and irritation occurs. There are hundreds of products on the market to lighten that area and improve its texture, but at home you can also find excellent ingredients to improve its appearance. Check them out below:

Cleaning

Cleaning is essential, but you must do it correctly. Use a mild and preferably natural soap to wash that area. Do not use scouring pads, or what you will do is cause friction in the area and make everything worse. With your hand and water is more than enough.

Scrubs

Sugar and oil

Lemon scrub with baking soda

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons of sugar
  • 5 teaspoons of olive

Process:

  • Mix the ingredients in a bowl.
  • Dip a cotton ball into the mix.
  • Gently apply to your elbows and gently rub for five minutes.
  • Rinse with lukewarm water.
  • Use it twice a week.

Lemon and baking soda

Elbow scrub

Another excellent exfoliating option is with lemon, which is stronger and helps to rinse, but be careful! It is only for the elbows or knees, never wear it on the face.

Ingredients:

  • A lemon cut in half
  • One tablespoon of baking soda

Process:

  • Mix the ingredients and apply to the elbows.
  • Rub for one minute and let sit for 10 minutes.
  • Rinse with lukewarm water.
  • Do it at night so that the lemon does not stain your skin with the sun.

Hydration

Elbow wetting

A good moisturizer is a basic toilet, as are the oils that provide excellent nutrition to our skin.

Ingredients:

  • 3 teaspoons of aloe vera
  • 10 Drops of Rosehip Oil

Process:

  • Mix the ingredients perfectly.
  • Apply to the elbows and massage until completely absorbed.
  • Leave it on overnight and rinse the next day very well.
  • Repeat three times a week.

Don’t forget to apply moisturizer after bathing or after each treatment. You can also use almond, olive or lavender oil if you want to give yourself an extra taste. You will see how in a short time the rough appearance of that area will improve.
